Passwords

Password Requirements

Passwords must contain:

  • a minimum of 7 characters
  • at least one number
  • at least one upper case letter
  • at least one lower case letter
  • at least one special character (&, #, -, _, etc...)

Passwords cannot contain:

  • user’s login name
  • the reverse of the login name
  • users First Name or Last Name
  • passwords must avoid the use of known words (from any language, slang, dialect, jargon, etc.)
  • passwords must avoid the use of knowable personal information (names of family, etc.)

Forgotten Passwords

  • If you forget your password, please contact your technical support department for a temporary password.
    • If your department is supported by Student Success Technology Services, please call 864-4258.
  • The temporary password should be changed immediately.

Remembering Passwords

  • Don’t change your password in a hurry. Take your time in creating a password that you can remember.
  • Schedule an appointment with a reminder 55 days after you change your password. This will give you 5 days to think of a new password before your password expires.
