SSTS Project Proposal Directions
The SSTS Project Proposal provides SSTS staff with tools to evaluate project proposals. Our goal is effective planning and deployment of new initiatives while continuing to support and upgrade current systems.
Please use these directions to request:
- New web applications that you would like SSTS staff to program;
- Significant modifications or upgrades to existing Student Success web applications and databases that you would like implemented outside of the annual review process;
- SSTS technical assistance with evaluating and implementing third-party vendor software programs or packages;
- Major technology infrastructure changes with the potential to impact the above.
If you are not sure whether to complete a Project Proposal, please contact SSTS for additional assistance.
Who can submit a proposal to SSTS?
Any staff member in an SSTS-supported department who is willing to serve as the Project Owner may submit a proposal to SSTS for review. The Project Owner's responsibilities include describing the need for the project within their area of responsibility; defining objectives; providing functional specifications; and working with the assigned SSTS staff member to complete the objectives. The Project Owner may bring others into the discussion but is the recognized point of contact for all issues regarding the project.
If a project involves more than one Student Success department, there must be a designated Project Owner from each department. If a project involves departments outside of Student Success, there must be a designated technology contact from each department.
Where can I get help preparing my Project Proposal?
SSTS staff members are available to provide support and guidance for application and project planning. If you have questions or need help using the Project Proposal Template, please contact the Director of SSTS.
When should I submit my Project Proposal?
You may submit Project Proposals at any time, and we review proposals as they are submitted. We will evaluate your proposal to determine how it will fit into the current workflow of projects within SSTS.
In order to get an idea of how long your project may take, please take a moment to fill out our web rubric form. This form will give you an idea of the minimum lead time necessary for us to complete your project (from the receipt of the completed project proposal).
When can I expect to hear from SSTS regarding my Project Proposal?
We will contact you within 10 business days to discuss the status of your Project Proposal. We may ask Project Owners to meet with SSTS staff to provide additional information. These meetings may include staff from other departments as deemed necessary by SSTS. SSTS is committed to moving project proposals through the evaluation and prioritization process as quickly and efficiently as possible.
How/Where do I submit my Project Proposal?
